The Algarve is a beautiful place with amazing rock formations on the beaches and great little coves where you can swim and snorkel.  The sand here is similar to home which is nice but Jagger continuously found cigarette butts everywhere (now we know and appreciate why Mooloolaba have banned smoking on the beach!!)

The Marina is lovely, very new and not too many locals go there.  We had the most yummy Champagne Sangria at Pippi´s.

After checking out Faro, Lagos and a few other towns around, Albufeira is by far the best little town in the region and we´re very glad we picked to stay here.  Tried Portuguese-style steaks - very nice.  The red wine is not like Oz though, so we opt for the beer in Portugal...

The air is a little tense following the disappearance of little Madeleine but the Portuguese are putting on a brave face and doing their best to make the tourists feel comfortable.
