Just a quick note before dinner, Rode form Luxor to Edfu today. It was a non-race day. A chance to try out the bike as i switched things around yesterday in preparation for Sudan, now have suspension forks on, my intermediate tires, and my hill climbing cassette. All seems fine, and am now ready for some rougher conditions.

Tonight we are camped in a disused Football stadium, it is a dust bowl with not a single blade of grass, which means everything, tent, bags, bikes and us are all the same colour. We have had to prepare things for our trip from Aswan to Sudan, the red Box is switched for the permanent bag, and the two trucks go off to be ferried separately form us, we now have to live out of the permanent bag for the next three days, in it we have our camping, and cycling gear and our change of clothes. we board the ferry tomorrow afternoon @ 4 for an 18 hour trip down lake Nasser, during which we will have to mount a guard over our stuff. bedlam is guarantied

So, I've read the blogs on the tour d'afrique website, and first, yours is better :) but second, I'm glad we don't need to send a search team to dredge Lake Nasser. Also, there's a nice pic of you in the photos section. Should solidify that alibi (OJ). beware of the giant spitting cobras. xx
