Mui Ne
This is where Lynne gets some of her pampering. We had booked into a hotel called Dynasty which by Vietnamese standards was quite expensive, but it had looked so good on the web site and the beach looked wonderful. We thought we could have a couple of days here, just the Thursday and Friday nights.
Great honeymoon spot
The bus trip, which was, yep! you guessed it, 4 hours was fairly comfortable. We managed to get the front two seats mainly because there were only about a dozen people on the bus. This meant Lynne could work on the laptop trying to get her “Story of Lek” finished. More on that later.

We arrived at the hotel a little after 12:15pm and it turned out to be right next door to the Sinh Café hotel and office. As we checked in Lynne asked what if any upgrade was possible and the receptionist showed us a small bungalow on the beach. I do mean on the beach, the sand starts 6ft from our door and the water is 20 ft from there. Our beach is kinda partitioned off so we have what amounts to a private beach.
Needless to say Lynne liked this and now we’re booked here until Tuesday!

It is pretty nice although the prices for food are very expensive by Vietnamese standards. For example, a glass of red wine is 48,000 Dong, at 15,000 dong to the dollar it doesn’t sound to bad until you find out that the shop next door is selling a bottle of the same red wine for 40,000 Dong. Then it feels like your being ripped of and that’s what burns!
Still you just can’t fault the view and the pool, a few days here will be just fine…
We have since learned that Mui Ne is a favorite honeymoon spot for Vietnamese couples – we can see why. It’s really quiet here. Apart from a few boys fishing from their coracles there’s not much else going on. The water is a little too rough for me to swim in, but the pool at the hotel is just fabulous. We didn’t do any sightseeing here, so we didn’t see the fairy river or the sand dunes so we can’t really tell you much about the city of Mui Ne, but the weather was beautiful and it was a great few days of relaxing. We met a couple of Canadian lads, Kevin and Gordy, on the bus to Mui Ne and then again while we were there. They said they were headed up to Hanoi as well so we jokingly said we’d probably see them again.
