Suprisingly, I was up at 10am the next morning. I found a good deli, NIra's located on the main street that connects sunrise beach and sunset beach as Hat Rin is a southern point with beachese on both sides. My mission was to find a new place to stay. Same-Same was fine, but I wanted to be closer to the beach. I found one place that was about twice what I was paying that was right on the beach with a bungalow not too far away from the beach. However, I decided to also check out Leela beach on the sunset side which is where Melina stayed. The place that she had stayed at (she left the day after the half moon party) was full, so I checked out Cocohut, down quite a steep hill (reminiscent of San Francisco) which was definitely more upscale. The bungalows were definitely out of my price range, but I could get a very acceptable room and shared bathroom for about the same price as the other place I had found. The clincher on this place was that it had a pool that looked right onto the ocean. I made a reservation for the next day and headed back up the steep hill to Same-Same.

Hat Rin definitely has life to it. The main road is crowded with shops, restaurants, bars and accommodation that doesn't seem to come alive until at least 10:30am and goes on well past midnight. Hat Rin is not a very big place, you can walk from one end to the other in about 10 minutes. Eating dinner centered around what movie you wanted to see as most places showed movies to lure in customers. This was actually a nice change of pace for me instead of reading my way through dinner. I saw quite a few espisodes of Friends, Knocked Up and one other movie that for the life of me, I can't remember (guess it wasn't that good!). You can definitely tell the pirated movies because the subtitles were just so bad - sometimes not even close to what was being said, and then sometimes nothing at all (I guess they couldn't figure out what was being said).

My two days at Cocohut involved being completely lazy, just hanging out in the pool, at the beach, a lot of reading and relaxing. I did manage to get to town twice a day just so that I had a chance of pace :)
