Montevideo is a city that doesn´t get much exposure in the US and it is really a shame.  I think it has been the nicest city we´ve visited so far.  It isn´t quite as developed as a European city but it is close.  The people are amazing friendly and helpful to each other and to tourists.  Another good sign is that the place is full of book stores.  I´ve never seen a city with so many.  Seems like a good sign!  We had read that the recent economic troubles in Argentina had really hurt the economy but I sure didn´t see many signs of it!
