Fun Day-Trips and other Helpful Hints: Day 7

A picturesque hillside town with Visigoth, Jewish, Christian and Arab legacy, Toledo is a mere half-hour train ride from Madrid...

Day 7: Depart Seville

  • Seville has an international airport, though there are few direct flights to the US, it is possible to connect via Madrid, Paris or other large European cities. Most flights leave in the morning.

If able to add on a day or two, some recommended day trips

  • Toledo – A picturesque hillside town with Visigoth, Jewish, Christian and Arab legacy is a mere half-hour train ride from Madrid.

  • Jerez de la Frontera – This capital of sherry production and home to the Equestrian School is an hours’ train ride from Seville.

  • Ronda - One of the oldest and most stunningly situated cities in Spain, Ronda is perched on a 300-ft gorge on a craggy ledge and home to the oldest bullfighting rings in the country. While there is a 2 1/2 hour train from Granda to Ronda, there is no train or bus service onwards to Seville. The only train option would be via Cordoba. The most efficient would be to rent a car and drive from Granada and either overnight in Ronda or spend the day and continue onto to Sevilla.

With less days

  • Spend only two nights in Seville or instead of spending a night in Madrid, head straight to Cordoba upon arrival.

  • Itinerary

  • This itinerary can be reversed as well, starting in Seville and ending in Granada. For the departure, fly from Granada to Madrid and onwards.

  • This is possible all in one day, or overnight in Madrid at the end instead of upon arrival, or spend two nights if time permits.
