We are getting closer to our departure date. We have less than one week left in our apartment. We will be staying with Jess' family until our flight leaves Aug 13. I have found a backpack. I picked it up at Fontana on the west side, the guy there was really helpful. It is pretty sweet considering my possesions will be residing in one bag for a year.

Jess and I are getting very anxious. We are really excited to go and we hope we are ready. Ready. Ha, you can't really be ready for a trip with so many destinations. Just an update on our destinations. We have pretty much figured out the plan. Here goes

2 weeks in Japan starting Aug 13 A couple of days in Singapore A month - 1.5 months in Indonesia 4-5 months SE Asia and Southern china 2 months in New Zealand/Australia 1.5- 2 months in India and Nepal Possibly 2 months traveling overland from South Africa to Kenya 1 Month in Egypt, Jordan Syria A couple months in Europe.

So yes it isn't all worked out and the Southern Africa part of the trip may not happen due to time and money. If the trip takes longer than 12 months well we might just have to do that. We want to leave our schedule as flexible as possible so we can stay in areas longer or for shorter time periods. We will just have to buy our flights along the way.

I will update again soon. It almost seems like there is too much to talk about. Peace Eli and Jess

What a great thing this blog stuff is! I love all the technology that keeps everyone so connected, no matter where in the world you are! I am so very excited for you two, exploring the world together. Stop to smell, stop to feel, stop to taste, stop to listen, stop to share yourselves with those you are going to meet! And if you find a cool button, bring it home for me! Love, A.Lynne

I am soooo jealous. If there is one thing i have learned from my travels and Andria (African travels) it is that there is no use in contemplating the options. Once you are abroad the options decide themselves and you just go with the flow. Be as pacient as you can. I remember wondering if I should go here or there and to take the train or fly. Once you get to the station your options may me more limited than you expected. Andria and I would agonize over what to do, only to find out we only had one option! We had a blast because we were together experiencing everything that we could. Your trip will bring you joy and knowledge.
