Christine Hunt has done a lot of work to restore the White Farm to its original state. One of the joys of staying there is listening to her and Scott talk about the work they've done and tell stories of the farm's past.
The dining room is definitely the highlight of this. After buying the house and moving a mirror on the wall, they found that it had been painted around. Seeing a faint shadow of something beneath, they stripped the paint to find unbelievable murals and stenciling. Many long hours (days....months....) later, Christine restored the original murals. They are breathtaking.
They really take you back to another era: the 1800s when Brockport was a wild frontier.
