Flamsbana Railway Line
From Whirlwind Trip of Europe in Flam, Norway on Apr 29 '07
What a great sleep. Being out in the middle of Norway without a care in the world. The Flamsbana Railway Line is one of the most gorgeous train rides if not in Norway, but the world. We took it up to Blomheller at about 450 metres above sea level and hopped off. Starting our hiking journey with a 13.5 km route to get back home. This pictureque town of 3 buildings was the starting point. All along the way there were waterfalls after waterfalls and more pictureque towns. The walk was breathtaking. We were able to be so close to nature and to see everything while hearing the rushing water that surrounded you the entire length of the journey. I could do this everyday.
We did get to one waterfall and I think I took over 30 pictures of it. It was stunning and unlike anything I've ever seen before. There was also the old Flam church build in the 1400s. The journey took us 4 1/2 hours and those were some of the most memorable hours of my entire journey.
