Note: I didn't actually STAY in Cordes, though I visited it a lot. I stayed in a rented house in a tiny town called Vieux. And when I say tiny, I mean that the only things there were: 1 vineyard, 1 riding school, 3 rentable holiday homes, 1 trash/recycling area. Our house was called Couxe.

Ah, relaxation.

Today, all the girls went out shopping in Albi. There are so many little fun shops and cafes there. It was tons of fun, though very hot. The car ride back was gross. My legs were sticking together, and I could feel the sweat dripping down my back...and I'm not even a sweaty person! It gets up to at least 95 degrees here every day. It makes portland look like siberia. My skin gets darker every day. By the time I go home, I should have a lovely tan to show off. It's about time I got some color. Thank god for the sun. I was pretty miserable for the first few days here, for various reasons, but after spending a day or two on an floatie bed in the pool behind our house, I feel so much better. Ah, relaxation.

And falling off the floatie thing :p

Today is my birthday! My Dad and I hiked up the huge hill to Cordes for lunch. I had a huuuge veggie pizza with an egg in the middle, and a creme brulee for desert. Creme brulees are my all time favorite sweet :) Cordes is a beautiful town. The view is amazing from up there.

We're leaving today to drive back to England. Nigel (Uncle) has just left to take Dad et all to the Toulouse airport. They're flying back to Portland. Everyone else has gone back to bed. I'm watching the sun rise over the vineyard hills and listening to the bats fly by my window. I've had a nice time here.
