Nobody Walks in L.A.
From Leaving on a jet plane...don't know when I'll be back again... in Los Angeles, United States on Oct 04 '05
I had THE BEST TIME in LA! It is so my happy place I never wanted to leave. I have to send massive props to (in order of appearance) *CHARLIE*
*RJ* *NICHOLE* *SEBASTIAN* and *PORSCHA* as they looked after me so
Who'd have thought we'd be rolling with Blu Cantrell?
well and made sure I had the best time ever! I LOVE YOU ALL!! I arrived in LA to go straight out to Charlie's in Pasadena which
is a little way out but quite Spanish influenced. I hung out and had a
look around (first stop Macy's to try out Britney's new fragrance
Fantasy) and went to Charlie's work at Outhern California Radio. It is
on this campus and is SO US of A! We rode around on his bike a bit and
chilled in Pasadena. His daught Corin was staying with him and she is
so cute! (Charlie is from a group of friends we made on a media famil
aboard Sapphire Princess). He then dropped my off to RJ's as she is living in Hollywood with
her husband Paul and working in film. We went to lunch at Blowfish
Sushi on Sunset (no Britney and Kevin but keep reading for celeb
cameos...) this sushi ROCKS and they do the best Mango Mojitos ever!
It was so good to catch up with RJ we were mates back in high school.
We also went to The Abbey (a hip gay bar on Santa Monica Blvd.) MMMM
Key Lime Martinis and Apple Mojitos!! Hooning around LA is an insane
experience, indicators don't seem to exist here?! Nik then came to pick me up in her hot mustang convertible (love
it) and took me back to her house before we went to their restaurant
Sebastians in Studio City. We had some martinis and this is when I met
Blu Cantrell who was there with an old friend of Nik and Sebastians
from out east. We started chatting and then RJ and Hailey (her roomate
who works for 42 Below - Small world!) came to join us and we all hang
out with Nik and Sebastian and Blu did a couple of songs for us
including one aabout the restaurant - the other patrons loved it too!
So then we all went to The Moneytree next door where we saw Laurnce
Fishbourne which was pretty cool. We also had this guy Brian with us
who own a company that makes hip-hop golf gear (have lots of pix will
post when I can). So that was fun and a bit of a random night! On Friday I went into Dualstar with Nichole and met everyone which
was great! MK and Ash weren't there but I saw their individual offices
where MK has just put in the funkiest couch! Then I hopped over to Fox studios to catch up with Porscha who I
used to work with when she was at Dualstar. She showed me all around
her offices (very funky and aweseom environment). We had a look around
the lot where they have a massive bbq on Fridays and saw all the sets
and trailers - cool stuff! Porsch gave me a handy pack of America's Most Wanted playing cards
so I can memorise the faces to look out for on my travels across the
U.S. Girls - ALL YOUR BOYFRIENDS ARE SO HOT COME BACK AND PICK THEM UP
SISTAS!! And then she dropped me back to Nichole and we went to Pacific
Design Studio where she had a meeting and I went to Urth Cafe (the one
all the celebs / wannabees and papprazzi go to - it's a fave of MK and
Ash ;) for an iced coffee. The weather has been SOOOO hot here in the ninties which I am loving for the instant tan!! We then had a lovely Italian meal and Nik very kindly drove me to
Anaheim to meet my Coniki tour. (Nik I am so sorry but really glad I
didn't catch a cab it is miles away!!) So we had a few drinks in the
bar (chillin at the Holiday Inn) and settle din to be up early int he
morning!
