So, today I finally struck out on my own in Canberra. The bus network here is very well thought out, I have to say, as I managed to get across the whole city for under £3.00, a very reasonable price I think. Why travel across the city? To get to the museum, of course!

It's a really odd building, with weird design features. However, inside, it is a) massive and b) very interesting. Worth a visit if you're ever in Canberra at any time. Unfortunatley, I can't show you many pictures because, in a classic problem of travelling, my camera batteries ran out and I had no more on me. And the shop didn't have any in stock... wonderful.

However, getting back from the museum was a bit more fun. I got back to the Woden Interchange, and then set off for home. Yeah, this was where the phrase it went 'tits up' might be used. I got off the bhus in the wrong place. Had it not been for the street map in my bag, I would have gotten lost in suburbia. As it is, I had to spend a hour walking back. Thankfully, I found the main artery throughfare, and followed that back to the house. However, it did let me see two things: A cockatoo, right in front of me. I decided not to get too close, and was truly pissed that my camera was out. Not as much as seeing the kangaroo moving through the brush just beyond my godmother's house, and not having an camera to take a damn picture! Curses.

Oh well, I'll put up what I do have, and let you good people get on. TTFN
