Figueira DA Foz wasn't quite what we expected, we thought we were staying in a quiet little beach town with great surf. Turned out to be one of a string of beach cities that run along the Portugese coast, and the surf for the two days we were there wasn't worth writing home about. We were assured that it does get better than it was when we were there, but I guess that's just the nature of surfing! The water was also freezing, so we didn't even venture out for a swim, we did however manage to get some time in lazing on the beach, which was quite ok with me!
