KL - slippery when wet!
From Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Apr 02 '07
Got the coach up to KL which took about 5 hours. There were no chickens or sitting on the floor on this coach. I had a lazyboy chair, free drinks & food and my own tv screen. This is the life!
It was absolutely pissing down when I got to KL. As I am attempting to do budget travel, I thought I should walk to the hostel rather than get a taxi. The rather attractive 'kag in a bag' was put on and I hauled the rucksack onto my back. Now here's a top piece of advice. When it's raining in KL, the pavements have no grip even if you are wearing walking boots. Not once, but twice, did I fall on my arse. Now when you laid flat out with a rucksack on your back it is neither easy or dignified to try and get back to your feet!
Hostel was fine, again great location. My first thoughts of the room was that it was like a prison cell, but I'm used to it now and quite like it. The high ceiling means the fan actually moves the air around. I don't have a window (just slats and a blind) and am next to the main road and a nightclub, but if I put my earplugs in it's fine.
