Even though it rained throughout the drive to the Milford Sounds was one of the most scenically amazing drives during our trip. We drove around the Lake Wakatipu, passing staggering waterfalls and then through the Home Tunnel 3,000 feet to Milford Sounds at sea level. Hannah and I took a boat trip so we could travel deeper into the Sound and really appreciate the stunning fiord. The weather had created hundreds of waterfalls and we got to stand under them. During the trip we saw fur seals and crested penguins also enjoying the rain!
