The family took me to Gruyere to see one of the local castles. Rona drove us there and had a wee bit problem parking. It was pretty funny. After a few near hits and trying to park in between the lines, with a little help from us in the back we finally made it safely. Rona and I walked through the castle and had a lot of laughs. We explored the old castle as if we were natives. Walking down one of the spiral staircases, tall Rona forgot to duck and didn't quite make it through the doorway. I wasn't sure what hurt worse, the dent in the wall or her hard head. The man standing next to us "oohed" and the woman asked if she was ok. What did I do?? I couldn't help it, it was so funny. After a few tears of laughter and a couple reenactments, we continued our journey through the castle. It was a gorgeous view of the mountains. After the castle we went to the Gruyere cheese factory and saw how the cheese was made and maintained. It was pretty interesting. A machine turns all of the big pieces of cheese and brushes it with water. It was like a mini -robot. You could see the aging process of the cheese from a light color to the dark yellow cheese. It was a lot of fun. The castle was very interesting. That night we rushed home for Rona's surprise birthday party. It was a great day for laughing!!!
