For my site visit today in my Renaissance Architecture class we got to climb to the top of the Duomo. The views from the top were amazing! The day was kind of foggy/cloudy so it would have been better on a sunnier day, but it was still worth it.

It cost 6 Euro to get to the top and after about 450 steps we were there. Inside the climb to the top there were spiral staircases that were sometimes pretty snug, but not enough to make anyone clostraphobic. There was also a platform about halfway up where you are able to walk on the inside of the dome and can see the frescoed ceiling really well. It was gorgeous!

Once we were outside on top of the dome we could see the whole city. You can walk around the entire dome so you can get a view of everything from above. Of course we all took our picture at the top as one of the main tourist things you have to do in Florence. Haha...but it was a really good time!
