Gidday!

We've been in Austalia for a few days and love it.  The first two days we spent touring Sydney and the surrounding harbour.  Sydney seems to be a pretty nice city, the weather is nice and the people are very friendly.  Yesterday we spent the day in Bondi Beach which is a beach town just outside the city limits.  We spent the whole day just lying on the beach which was relaxing.  Today we are off to pick up our campervan which serves as our transportation and our place to stay.  We are going to drive for the next week up the coast to Brisbane and hope to see some more beach towns, some national parks, and hopefully make it inland for a day or two to see some of the outback.

Well, as you can see from our pictures, we are traveling the countryside in our campervan.  We began in Sydney then traveled to the Blue Mountains.  We continued further west in search of true outback.  We did find plenty of skippies (kangaroos), beautiful sunsets, and friendly people.  Today we are back on the Coast at Coffs Harbor.  We traveled to the coast today via the Waterfall Way.  It was amazing and we were able take a few walks.  We will be headed to Byron Bay tomorrow and eventually Brisbane to drop off our beloved campervan.

We spent a day and a half in Byron Bay.  Its a fun, low key town with lots of beach atmosphere.  The weather worked out perfect for us and we enjoyed basking in the sun and body surfing some waves.  After Byron Bay, we took a flight up to Cairns.  We went snorkling on the Great Barrier Reef.  I think that was one of the best things I've done on the trip so far.  We are now spending our last night in Australia in Port Douglas.  Yesterday we went to the Daintree Rainforest and this morning we went to a wildlife sactuary and played with pythons, koalas, and crocks.  (Hope you enjoy those pictures.)  We are off to Vietnam tomorrow!

Hi Chris & Meghan! Your blog is awesome. It is fun 'checking in' every few days to see what you two are up to. It looks like you are having a great time and seeing so much. The pics of Sydney are deja vu! Don't you just love it there? Where are you going next in Australia? Will you make it up to Cairns or Port Douglass? You should try to get in an AFL game if they are still playing. As for CO, it snowed in the high country this weekend, so everyone is revving up for ski season here. We are going to miss skiing with you guys this year! Have a great day, and we look forward to seeing more pics soon!

Hi Guys! I am guessing it was COMPLETELY unintentional that you forgot about the red sox being in the playoffs. Meghan you will be happy to know that your Yankee team, chock full of "Jeters and Ja-Herigs" were knocked out. :) Good thing you are not here or you would have to listen to me talk about the sox for the next two weeks! I miss you!

Hi Chris and Meghan, Your pictures are so spectacular! I check your blog all the time for something new and it takes me on a wonderful trip to see whatever you've seen. I have told friends about it and likened it to the "Cliff Notes" of the World...you have just a little bit of everything important. Thanks so much, and I hope you are both feeling good and have been happy with what you packed in your backpacks to make this trip. Keep having FUN! Love, Aunt Barb

The Bush van is awesome. That picture of Chris, complete with full neck beard, cooking with all of the van's doors open behind him is fantastic. I may get it blown up and put on a t-shirt. Chris - how is the lone pair of underwear treating you? You both look like you are having the time of your lives - I am thrilled to see the adventure going so well. Miss you in the States - take care! ps - let me know if you want to see any of my pictures. :)
