Prague Rhymes With "Frog"

If you are paying attention and know the Youds fairly well, you will have realized that we traveled to Prague, Czech Republic, on Shelley's 30th birthday.  The train ride was beautiful!  It followed a river through some amazing canyons, plus, Ryan slept for a good portion of the trip. To get Ryan used to the name of our new city, I kept saying, "Prague rhymes with...?" And he would respond, "Frog!"

Because it was Shelley's birthday weekend, we splurged and rented the two bedroom apartment on the top floor of the Czech Inn.  This place is great!  First off, the pun in the name just killed me (Czech Inn = Check In-- get it, its a hostel... you need to check in to stay here... if you haven't gotten it by now, never mind!) Our apartment is fabulous.  It has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room, a private bathroom, and direct access to the hostels roof patio!  We are living it up.  Tonight, some of the students who are also staying in the hostel are coming up and cooking us dinner for Shelley's birthday!

We are living it up.

This morning, we set out to see what we could of Prague before naptime.  We were amazed at just how small the city is.  We rode the funicular (train that goes straight up a steep hill) to the top of a huge park and got some good views of the city.  Then we walked across Charles Bridge and through the Old Town Square where we watched the giant cuckoo clock on a church chime out the hour.  Next, it was home for a nap, and now I'm off to the grocery store for provisions. Prague has been a nice, quaint surprise.

Tomorrow, we head to Stutgard, Germany, for the night before traveling to Interlaken, Switzerland.

Hey Geoff and Shelley, I finally took some time to catch up with your travels. SOrry I missed your b-day, Shelley. Happy belated birthday though! Sounds like you are still enjoying your trip. We keep you in our prayers and think of you often. Guess what ... we heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday! WoW! Is that ever a cool experience. It's hard to believe that we are going to be parents again. It's an incredible experience, huh? Being a parent has really changed me. I just wonder what being a parent of two will look like!? :) OK, gotta go. Hope to hear from you soon. PS - Geoff, thank for the phone call the other day. I am sorry I missed you. I was in a meeting and couldn't pick up the call. If I would have known it was you, I would have picked up anyway. Next time "Anonymous" pops up on my screen, I'll know who its from! Lots of love, Brian
