Punta Arenas, Chile

Punta Arenas was a stop off point for us.  From the north all buses go here and we had to fly out of the town to get to Santiago.  So although it is hardly the prettiest of towns, we ended up staying there on 2 occassions!

We wanted to go to a penguin colony nearby but apparently the penguins only come out in summer!!!  So that was off the list.  Instead we chilled in hostels with a TV and saved some cash.

We´d only recommend people visit Punta Arenas in the summer as everywhere is closed in winter.
