We finally made it home to the ice and snow, and no matter how much we were prepared for it, it was still a shock to our system. Being completely unclimatized, it was only a matter of hours until I caught the flu bug that is currently floating around the city. Makes being home not nearly as thrilling.

Making it home though turned out to be alot more difficult than me and Jackie had anticipated. It started out extremely bad when we had to wait two hours longer in Belize city, because the plane was late arriving due to a sudden storm in Housten. Once we made it to Housten we only had 15 minutes to go though immigration, customs and catch our next plane. I had always thought that people who ran through the airports were complete morons, and that these things generally don't happen in real life. How wrong I was when I became the person running with a backpack full of Rum,  flip flops, and bag full of ceramics trying to catch our next plane. We made it with two minutes to spare, only to find out the plane was in need of repairs and our flight was delayed. Two hours later, an unsuccessful call home and a wide variety of curses aimed at the US phone companies and airport industry, we were able to catch our next flight to Minneapolis. Once there, you guessed it, we once again became stranded in another US city, one that is nearly as cold as Edmonton. With only our flipflops, tanktops and a small zip up sweater we spent the night sleeping in our clothes at the Sheraton. As crappy as we both felt at this moment, the velvet pillows we were able to sleep on completely redeemed everything.

So, we are home safe and sound and are in the process of adjusting to another Canadian winter and to being working girls again. But only one more month to go, Christams spent with the family and I will be on my way again. This time sans Jackie, as I am flying solo to lands I have yet to explore. Hope you guys continue to follow what I'm up to while in Australia and New Zealand. Love hearing from everyone back home and enjoy all your entries on the blog. Will miss you lots while I'm gone but promise to keep in touch.
