Florence is a beautiful city. If you are into art or high end shoppingthis is the place. I was there for 2 days and feel that this is very adequate. You can see most everything in one long day if you choose. The best views of the city are from the dome of the duomo and Piazza de Michaelangelo, but put your walking shoes on because their both a workout to get to.
