Christmas in St. Kitts

We arrived Christmas evening.  Wow, it seemed like the trip was going to take forever.  We had to connect in San Juan as there are no non-stop flights on Mondays.  We got there at about 930pm and Leroy and Mom met us at the airport.  The weather was incredible!  So breezy!  I was hoping that it was also breezy in Basseterre so those darn mosquitos would stay away from me.

We got to the house and was greeted by Bubba (Bubbalicious), Diana, and the kids - Chris and Michelle.  T.J. or "B", Ruben, and other "regulars" of the Shop on the Wall also greeted us.

After eating our Christmas dinner, we walked down to the bay and back home again.  That was it for the night...we had to turn in because in a couple of hours was Jouvert!  Woohoo!  What is Jouvert in SKB? Click here!

Jourvert morning was crazy...woke up at about 5am...was ready by 530am, and we were out the door by 545am.  The bands were already in full effect.  Small Axe, Grandmasters, Nu-Vybes, d-Vybes, and 2 or 3 other bands I didn't recognize.

During the day on Wednesday, we didn't do too much...just putzed around enjoying everyone's company.  Wednesday night, we went to Balahoo Restaurant (waiters were rude - could be due to the company - LOL).  One of Chris' friends saw us walking on the bay and took us around to the Marriott, then to Barry's(forgot his last name) little party.  We didn't go in...it was 15EC...oh well...
