Hello avid readers, Erin here. Just thought I would let you know what we have been up to the last four days since we arrived in Koh Phan Ngan.... a whole lot of nothing... and man has it been great!

We arrived here and met Craig, Toni and Jon, who we had been travelling with for about a week. We arrived a day after them and they pretty much just told us where to come. So we arrived at the Coral Beach Bungallows, to find a bunch of drunk English, Aussies, and Irish. We spent the two days doing absolutely nothing but laying by the beach, around the pool and sleeping. One night I even drank a bucket!!!- I shared it with Koren and Jon, so as you can see, I have not been that adventurous yet. I am sticking to the singha beer.... which tastes mighty fine!!

We quickly realized people on this island are nuts, and that we don't exactly fit in here. There is this guys, complete idiot, that had a motor bike accident. He fell off his bike and cut his leg and foot up pretty badly. The nurses here were worried that it was infected and told him he should go home. So what does this guy do?? He drinks, and then gets back on a motor bike. Long story short, he got into another accident and ended up in the hospital.... Lesson number 1... WE DON"T GET ON MOTOR BIKES. All we have heard is horror stories, so never will either of us get on a bike. Secondly, we are very careful when we are out walking, and always watching for motor vehicles, since apparently no one here knows how to drive. I will stick to my feet, and I told Koren, if i am feeling adventurous, I might rent a bicycle!

The second crazy story happened yesterday. We signed up for this boat tour. I will get to this after. But there was this crazy girl (another one from Australia... shocking!) and she was drinking and smoking all day, and then at lunch, boommm... passed out. Smoked her head. Koren, the good nurse that she is ran over to help this girl, and she came through, and today all she could say was her head was a little sore.... these people are crazy! After all of this, Koren and I are playing it very safe! We are sticking pretty close to home for the time being, and tomorrow we are meeting up with 4 others that we met at Samui.

So yesterday we went on a boat tour. This consisted of about 60 people on a long  boat cruising around the Island. We stopped and hiked to this beautiful waterfall, then got back on the boat just intime for it to start raining. The rain was coming down really hard, the waves were huge, and I was a little scared... and we hadn't even left the beach. We waited until the rain subsided and then headed for lunch. After lunch we got back on the boat and went to bottle beach, which is beautiful and went snorkling... not much to see, just the same 3 kinds of fish and some coral, but still beautiful none the less. We then returned back to Sunset beach. It was about 7:30 by the time we got back. They had a buffet dinner set up for us and ate and hit the sack pretty early.

The place we were staying was nice, but there is a lot of construction going on, so we ended up moving a little further down the beach to a place called Sandy Bungallows. Today was another day full of nothing. We played connect-4 and a lot of cards, which brings to until now, and it is dinner time... and time for some singha beer!

Hope all is well back home and we just wanted to let you know that we miss you! We love the e-mails and the posting on the blog... keep 'em coming!

Don't worry, we aren't nearly as dumb as the Aussies and we are taking care of ourselves and getting darker and darker as the days go on... well Koren is anyways, after my burn, I am trying to stay out of the sun!

Cheers!

Hey guys, I'm glad you two are looking out for each other. There is a lot of stuff that goes on down there. Be safe! Love hearing your stories, it brings back alot of memories. So much of what you write are things I've done. Making it hard for me, being back in the cold. Definitely miss the buckets....
