Antigua ' Dissappointing colonial city

Took one of those chicken buses (refurbished US school buses) to Antigua which was supposed to be a very nice colonial city.  The bus experience was very....for a lack of a better word...unique.  It was cramped to the max, with 3 people in each seat (designed for two) and people standing, and the bus trying to pickup passengers anywhere it could.  Very rough ride that thankfully lasted about one hour.

As soon as I arrived to Antigua, I was trying to compare it to Cuzco, the other colonial town (which I visited one year ago in Peru).  This place was nothing like it, the streets were dirty, and just seemed very rundown.  Overall I was dissappointed as the only reason I went to Guate in the first place was to visit Antigua.

Had lunch in the town, and overall stayed about 3 hrs before catching the bus back.  On the ride back, the bus was even more crowded, and they were still stopping to pickup new passengers.

Got back to Guate bus station, and asked the cab driver to take us to Zona 10, which is the most influent section of the city.  Walked around a bit, and then thought about going out here at night (it was around 5pm Friday).

On my way back to the hotel, i realized that i forgot what it was called, and also where it was.  Thought I knew and tried to find it walking, but eventually realized that i was really lost, and almost walked all the way to downtown.  Finally found a helpful cab driver, who found the hotel and dropped us off.

I wanted to go out, but my friend found us a bus ride to Copan that left at 5am the next day, so we went to bed around 11pm.
