So Adelaide

We hadn't heard great things about Adelaide, people said that there was nothing to do and it was boring. So we only set aside a couple of days to explore the sights and sounds.

We stayed at yet another YHA, really should get around to buying a membership sometime soon, but not yet. It was nice, AND had the best touch i've seen so far in a hostel, 80gig of music on a computer in the kitchen/lounge!! That would make for some new music for us. Phew!!

As for Adelaide itself if isn't a bad place at all, it's a small city and that probably leads to there not being tonnes to do, but it was nice and it had a good 'vibe' about it. The only thing I could put against it was that in the whole time we were there I didn't find a single bottle shop. We're in Australia for cripes sake, I thought they were all alchies!

We had a day wandering around, and because it was a tuesday we decided to hit the cinema for 'Tight-arse tuesday' as they put it. About 3 quid to go to the cinema which is pretty good. We saw V for Vendetta, and it was really really good, thought provoking, plus, Natalie Portman (though admittedly she had her head shaved for most of the film).

We were in Adelaide mainly because we were getting the train across to Perth, and getting it from Adelaide meant it was a 41 hour journey instead of a 60 something one from Sydney. Plus it was a chance to see Melbourne, the Ocean Road and Adelaide.

We didn't do a great deal else in Adelaide, but it still wasn't boring. Apparently the wine tasting tours and vineyard tours are really good, but there wasn't much point doing that for Jem.

One thing we did do was go to an awesome pub, which did an superb ale and an even better Burger. We both got one and they were two of the biggest fattest burgers i've ever seen, soo good I still dream of them. MMMMM burgers.

Well that was our time in Adelaide, though it may not sound it, it was a nice place and was a good place to be, young people, lots of stuff going on. If we'd had more time it would have been good to do abit more exploring but c'est la vie, we had to leave it at that.

Next up we had to get the train, all 41 hours of the nullabor plain over to Perth.

It really is as exciting as it sounds, so stay tuned!

Stay Classy everyone

Lots of Love

Si and Jem
