We're back!

We drove from the centre of New York to Auntie Kate's place in Holden, Massachusetts passing through beautiful New England scenery including Connecticut. After arriving at Kate's Martin went into Boston CBD to attend his conference for 2.5 days.

The rest of us including the kid's cousin Luke (5 yo) went shopping at Greendale Mall (Kate's work "Old Navy" is in the mall) and Natick Mall and we were there all day.

The next day we all went to Rhode Island and saw some mansions. The richest people built their summer holiday homes at Rhode Island. We had a tour of the Breakers which is owned by the Vanderbilt's.

On Wednesday we went into Boston to pick up Dad. We then went on the Duck Tour of Boston. (A bus that goes in water) We had a tour around Boston and Charles River which fun and very intersting - Boston has a very historical past and is one of the first places America was settled by the British.

On Thursday we went to Harvard University and had a look around. Harvard is a famous University founded in 1634. All the kids enjoyed playing in the leaves (which was quite a contrast to all the studious types walking past inside the hallowed grounds). Then we took the Train to Boston Common and played in a cool playground near an ice skating rink called the "Frog Pond". It was also cool because it was about 0 degrees outside!

We also went for a walk around Beacon Hill and then Newbury street (shopping area) were we bought new scarves and gloves.

Next day we reorganised all our stuff after a week of staying in Boston as next day we were due to fly to Denver and that night we stayed at Kate's in laws place at Sturbridge. We go to meet Kate's in laws and had a really nice meal and evening whilst meeting the in laws.

We flew out to Denver next day to begin our next adventure - skiing in Colorado!

More later...............

Hi Charlotte and family, It is so great to hear from you all again. We have really enjoyed reading your travel blogs. The children enjoyed the ones from Disneyland the most...and were most impressed that you went in a limo in New York!! I'm glad you're having a fantastic time and hope you're all enjoying your skiing at the moment. I can't believe your aunty Kate works at Old Navy...I loved shopping at that store in Hawaii! Take care and have a safe flight home. See you soon, Mrs Barber.
