We decided on a 2 day guided trip to Fraser. We were taken in a 4WD bus type thing with about 10 other people by our guide Steve (the Didge). We got the boat across the the Island and were surprised at how big Fraser is. It is actually the largest sand island in the world.

It's not just sand though...there are beautiful forests and swimmable (is that a word) freshwater lakes. The sand at the bottom of the lake is so soft and white you can use it to exfoliate your skin. Then the natural tea tree oil in the water draws out the impurities . It's a free spa day! Due to the slightly acidic properties of the wwater not much wildlife can survive in it. Jim thought massaging some into his head might result in some hair growth!!!

We were lucky enough to see a Dingo on the beach, one of only 150 left on the island. The Fraser Island Dingoes are tthe purest breed in all Aus. There were loads of massive spiders and they seem to find there ideal home in the ladies loos! Steve (the didge) kept telling us scary stories about how he had to wrestle snakes etc but luckily we didn't see any.

In the evening Steve lived up to his name and gave us a Didgereedoo lesson. It was awsome fun and we looked like the prize winners in a gurning competition trying to get a niose out of the thing. With a bit of practice we had managed a sort of wailing sound and a farty noise that amused all the Swedes on our trip! We nearly passed out on a number of occasions from lack of Oxygen trying to master the circular breathing.
