Our tour was in England – more specifically Cornwell, England - we took a 1 ½ hour bus ride to a small fishing village called Fowey, pronounced like joy except with an 'f'. If you ever saw the Alfred Hitchcock movie “The Birds” – the author of the short story that inspired that movie Daphne DuMaurier comes from this very quaint village. We had to “tender” in – meaning we take a small boat from the ship to the shore – that trip took around 30 minutes. The good news about today – no rain in the village – when we returned unfortunately the rain started.

One of the first places we found was a bakery – they had the best apple turnovers – so good that we had to go back for 2nd later in the afternoon. I think the theme of this entire journey is 'gastronomic experience of Europe'.
The streets in this town were so narrow that when a car came you had to really step off of the street and push against the wall. The stores were really nice – not upscale – just quaint. We spent some time in a grocery store and spoke to the owner about their version of champagne – it’s kinda famous – it’s Cornwell Sparkling Wine. We would have purchased some – but you’re not allowed to bring it back on the ship …. We weren’t sure we could finish it on the bus.

Sally found a new friend by the pier – this seagull just stayed still for her to take the picture. Afternoon lunch was a Ham & Cheese Crepe with black coffee for Steve and of course Earl Grey Tea for Sally.
We saw the picture of the Sailboat and thought of Aunt Debbie & Uncle Paul on their sailboat.
Another great day on our grand European vacation!
