Day 9 of the Mystery Tour.  We left 40 minutes early to build in extra shopping time in Shelbyville, KY at our lunch stop.  Unfortunately we were detoured because of an accident on the interstate and we lost about 1 1/2 hours of travel time.  Our lunch scheduled for 11:30 was moved to 12:10!  Our morning break was a quick rest area stop after the detour and our lunch stop was at the old Science Hill Girls Prep School which is now the Wakefield-Scearce Galleries.  Lots of shops are located in the former school building in downtown Shelbyville, KY.  Great stop!  For lunch we ate a Hot Brown - an open faced sandwich made famous at the Brown Hotel in Louisville years ago.  The sandwich looked like a bowl of au gratin potatoes but it was actually a layer of toast and a layer of turkey slices covered in a Mornay sauce of cheese, milk, flour, etc.  topped with a tomato and bacon slice.  YUMMY!!!!  Crowd favorite!!  Our afternoon break was taken at the Love's Travel Plaza in Corbin, KY when we stopped there to drop off some passengers.  We arrived in Knoxville at 5:33pm!!  Tracy and I drove home after miraculously fitting all my stuff into his car!

All good things must come to an end. Even great things.
