Family Birthday

We left London on the 27th at 9pm with Eurolines from Victoria. We usually fly but we thought to do something different. It was one of the worst decision we have made. Firstly, when got on the bus there was trouble at the back. A russian lady was very upset with the way people were talking to her. So the bus driver took her to the front so he could keep her protected.

On the way out of London, Raewyn was bashed in the head by a lady behind us. After a short confrontation it became apparent that any such efforts to reason with the lady were completely pointless. Her and the other lady behind us chatted all the way, laughing and banging the backs of our seats.

Once we reached Dover, we went on the ferry. That was quite nice. We had dinner which wasn't that great, but it was food. We meet a nice english truck driver and had a long chat.

Then we went back to the bus. There was an englishman sitting in the russian lady's seat. The bus driver asked him politely to move back to his own seat and he refused. There was a long confrontation but the dutch bus driver was not giving in. He got the french police involved. The police managed to convince him to sit elsewhere and he did. Once the bus driver returned to the bus, the englishman started confronting him again. This time the driver turned the bus around and went back to the ferry to go back to London. So then I intervened. I got the englishman to agree to shut his mouth and the bus driver agreed. The bus was turned around and we were on our way to Holland.

The rest of the journey was uneventful and sleepless. We got off at Rotterdam, took the train the Amersfoort and got the bus to Woudenberg. We arrived in Woudenberg at 9am. There was a birthday so lots of visitors, lots of chatting, but we were so tired we went to sleep in the afternoon.
