We visited Paris for the day today. It was ridiculously fun! We got up really early in the morning to make our train at 6 am, but we really enjoyed the train ride. I had mentioned before that we got to go first class...and it was awesome! Free magazines and the food was amazing! It blew airplane food clear out of the water.

Anyway, once we got to Paris, we immediately went to the Arc de Triomphe, and the Champs Elysees (sp? pronounced Shaw-zay Lee-zay) to do some super upscale window browsing. The larges Louis Vuitton store is there. From there Marissa and I headed to the Louvre to visit Mona Lisa and all the other amazing art. Becky went just around the corner to Musee la Ornagerie (The Orange Museum) because she had already been to the Louvre and there were some awesoem Monet's on display there.

I don't think he said anything nice!

After a few hours at the museums we went to Notre Dame, but couldn't go up the bell tour because they were going to start mass in a couple of hours. Oh well, the inside was beautiful, too!

Finally, we headed for the Tour de Eiffel (Eiffel Tower, duh)! On the way we stopped to get a little crepe for lunch. The man making them was hilarious. Marissa was shocked at how big the Eiffel Tower was. We only had time the make it up to the first floor, but the view was amazing. It was dark out, so we also got to see it lit up.

On our way back, there were little salesmen trying to sell us light up eiffel towers EVERYWHERE. Like every three feet everywhere. They were following us, so we asked how much. They told us 1 Euro, but then said 10 Euro. Becky and I eventually convinced them to give us 2 for 5 Euro. Funny.

We made it back to our train, had an amazing supper on it, headed home, and went straight to sleep! Paris in a day is exhausting!!

For those of you that were thinking Parisians were going to hate us when they found out we were Americans, it actually wasn't bad. Most were incredibly friendly and nice, except for one old homeless man at the metro station that immediately called us out on being American and shouted at us while we were leaving. I don't think he said anything nice!

Today we are headed to some markets and more sightseeing!
