Our day started with a visit to The Top of the Rock, the observation deck high on the Rockefeller Center.  There are actually three levels, with outdoor spaces to better enjoy the view.  The top level, on the 70th floor, has the best views.  Beware, on a cold day it's hard to make yourself stay out there long!  The wind really gets to you.  But then again, so does the view.  Great views of Central Park, the Empire State Building, and Manhattan in general.  My friends liked this viewpoint best of all (they hadn't been to the Empire but liked a view of it, rather than from it) but I liked the view from the Empire State Building better.  Still, this is definitely worth the visit.  And back on the bottom floors, there is shopping!  We enjoyed checking out the Anthropologie store there.

We next walked down to Artisanal Fromagerie & Bistro, for lunch.  I realize it would have been easier and saved time to just eat at random places, but part of the reason we wanted to go to New York City was to eat at all of these specific places we had heard about and seen on the Food Channel.  And the journey to each one, no matter how out of the way, was worth it!

Speaking of worth it, we stopped at Macy's and shoved our ways through masses of people to enjoy just looking at everything, if nothing else.  As usual, I enjoyed the food section best of all.  I was able to find a specific chai (David Rio Chai) that I have not been able to find anywhere else.  It's great when that happens!

For dinner we once again went to a specific place we had planned on, Kellari's Parea.  Great Greek food.  Then off to RENT, our second Broadway experience!  A different type of musical from Spamalot, but just as worthy of your time.  We were very excited about our seats, close to the front, but we found that almost made the sound too loud!  Next time we will try to get tickets in a more middle-ish row.
