Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

• Saturday - August 4, 2001: We landed at Cleveland at 10:15 p.m. It ad been a long trip and it just seemed strange to me to be here. In the movie, The Other Side Of Heaven, the missionary is leaving for the states after spending three years on Tonga. He says at one point as he waits for his ship, I am leaving for home, but I feel I am leaving home. As I walked through Cleveland Hopkins Airport that night, I felt the same way.
• I spent the rest of the night making three trips back to the airport to see if our luggage had arrived. I had nothing better to do as I was wide awake and still on Australian time. I picked it up the next day at about 11:00 a.m. I didn't trust the airline to deliver it. So, this ends what would become the first of several trips back home to Australia. G'Day!
