All signs point to Kassel !!

We cycled 3 then 4 then 5 miles uphill to leave Kassel. It seemed like it was pulling us like a tractor beam. Every set of signs we came across for 20/30 miles pointed to Kassel. At one point we hit a T junction and every direction pointed to Kassel ! To us Kassel became like Mordor from Lord of the Rings - we couldn't get out !
But we did finally escape ... we had a real incentive to get as far away as we could and we managed to get 81 miles away today ...
Every set of signs we came across for 20/30 miles pointed to Kassel. At one point we hit a T junction and every direction pointed to Kassel !
We said we would get to Meschede and push on as far as we could and Arnstadt is where we ended up.
