It's Thailands 2nd largest island and relatively touristy but the soft sands and bath water temperature seas that make it so popular, are truly magnificent.
What we'll always remember:
- Celebrating our first year anniversary in a destination fit for a honeymoon
- Scootering around the island
- The fresh fruit - peeled and cut for you while you soak up the sun
Forgettable:

- The fact that everything seems to cost far more than anywhere else in SE Asia - I suppose that's the price you pay for being in a tourist hotspot

We arrived on our 1 year anniversary, found a little bungalow but decided not to splash out and settled for the fan and no hot water option which was just fine. We didn't do much more than laze on the beach, read our books and then have a fabulous seafood dinner at a table set on the beach.
We joined the party goers afterwards to watch the Man U - Chelsea game and even I had 2 beers to try beat the heat.

The next day (day 56) we hired a scooter and drove around the island (50 kms), stopping for the odd swim, pineapple and waterfall climb. We ended it with a drink on the beach while watching the sun set and then another fabulous Thai dinner. What more could you ask for??
