We have also broken up the rather uncomfortable bus journeys with a good
measure of speed boats and "lanchas" the funniest of which was a couple of days ago in the middle of torrential rain all of the passengers (numbering
about 20 or so) sat underneath a huge tarpulin (sp?) and
grinned at one another hopefully!
We reached Livingston which has a bad rep but seems nice enough. The journey up the Rio Dulce was worth it for the scenery and wildlife, a really beautiful trip.

Guatemala did not really get too many of our tourist Pounds as we kind of used it to travel through to other places. However the journeys were great especially when I had my first experience of a chicken bus (especially when a man got on with a chicken). The best part of the travelling was done by boat through a massive gorge that was know to have graffiti on it. Both flo and I were excited by this having images of murals and symbolic motifs, Instead we found it really was just graffiti and it looked a bit like a school table top. It kind of ruined the beautiful view.
