Days 6 & 7: Chobe National Park
From Botswana and Victoria Falls, Zambia: 9 Nights/10 Days in Chobe National Park, Botswana on Aug 02 '07
Chobe in northern Botswana is notable for it’s diversity of landscape and the mighty Chobe River. 35,000 elephants roam the forests, floodplains and marshlands: the biggest herds still roaming Africa and some of the largest recorded specimens. Watch buffalo, lion, wild dog and other animals roam the riverbanks, stopping to drink and splash. A river cruise is an unforgettable way to cap off your experience in Botswana.

Depending on which lodge you are at, either fly directly from the local airstrip to Kasane in the north or via Maun. The flights are just under an hour.
Where to Stay
Chobe Chilwero – Just above the Chobe River, fifteen luxurious thatch-and-timber bungalows feature canopy beds and huge sunken tubs.
What to Do
In addition to daily game drives, interpretive bush walks, and river cruises, visit ancient rock paintings made by early Bushmen that once inhabited the region.
