Upon return from Gay Paree, we were immediately struck by the drastic change in weather. When we left Hamburg, we'd been wearing our winter coats and it was mostly cold and often drizzly. We thought, my goodness, does the sun never come out here?

Well, we were shocked by the sun and heat. Shocked in a good way, of course!

We have spent the last week walking, on average 4hours a day (excluding today, today we cleaned and did laundry and packed), I was wearing shorts and skirts and tank tops and tshirts!

On Monday we went to another show, The Organ, a canadian band from Vancouver that plays 80s style rockish. It's an all girl band too, which is pretty awesome. After the show we decided to walk home (at around 1am) it took an hour but it was super nice out and I was really glad we did it.

Tuesday we went to a museum we haven't seen yet, Museum Kunst und Gewerbe, which was showing a sort of 'grad show' for all the fashion design schools, which was really interesting and inspiring. Then we sat in a park in the sun, reading and writing for about 2hours!!! (I've been so pale lately and so I am developing a lot of freckles, time for sunscreen!)

Wednesday we went to a "Thrice" concert that Dave has been talking about non-stop (well, he stops when he's talking about HIS hair or HIS art or HIS clothes...) so we paid too much money to get in and it ended up being kind of predictable emo-rock. It was okay but aaaallllll the same. Every song was the same as the last!! But we stayed until the very end, having paid and all. The first opening band was actually the best of the three, the only one to show some creativity (mostly in guitar and drums, the singing was tired), and after the show we walked home again (it was in the same-ish area- The famous Reeperbahn).

The rest of the week was, as I said, walking around in the sun. Reading relaxing etc.

I also tried to apply for my visa to stay here but will have to finish the process when I get back. It should be pretty easy though. Being canadian is sort of like having a stepladder whenever european bureaucracy wants you to jump through hoops.  I'm really glad (and lucky) to come from a country that has such a good reputation. We can go to a lot of places without Visas. In Germany, it can be harder for someone in eastern europe to get in to germany than for a canadian- despite the fact that we have a giant ocean to cross!

So, all you canadians out there- don't wreck our rep!!!!
