Well, I actually saw the sunrise!  I had to get out of bed at 6 (torture for me)  and when I hit the deck the sun was just getting ready to show it's first light.  And as the sun came up out of the ocean, the island of Kaui slowly crawled towards the ship.  Very cool!  I got some food and waited for the dudes to get up so we could go get another rental car.

Once on the island, we drove to the Waimea Canyon.  It was a nice drive across the Southern portion of Kaui.  At the end of the road is a parking lot and some steps that lead up to an outlook point over the canyon.  Definitely something to see while on the island.  From there we backtracked around to the East coast and checked out a few beaches.  Lydegate, Kapa'a - most of the beaches seemed very angry with big waves crashing on the shore.  Some beaches were littered with sticks and tree branches.  We headed up North to see what else we could find.

The North coast is probably the best part of the island.  There are parts that appear to be untouched by man.  I forgot to mention that Kaui has chickens running free like stray cats all over the island.  I wonder if there is any laws against killing the chickens.  We checked out Hanalei Bay which was much nicer than the East coast beaches.  By this time, we were losing light and decided to head back to the ship.  We didn't want to miss country night at the Spinnaker!  Yee haw.  ahh yes, just a few more mai tais...
