From Australia in Margaret River, Australia on Feb 12 '07

Day three, four and five! More eventful and action packed days that left all of us on the bus tired, sweaty, sandy( you’d be amazed at the amount of sand that accumulates on your body), grumpy and wondering- when exactly are we going to get, "the hell off this BUS"
Day Three

-depart at 6am- not an easy task considering you have been up till 2am playing poker and drinking boxed white wine with English mates you have met in the hostel
-try to get comfortable on the bus- your I pod becomes a necessity since the bus’s choice of music, James Blunt, is really starting to grate on your nerves
-strategically remove your contact lenses that have become permanently attached to your corneas
-pretend to enjoy the day, that turns out to be more about the historical importance of the wars that Australia fought and about Albany- one of the most historical towns in Australia and seeped with history, passion and exports! My eyes are struggling to stay open at this point!!!!!

-stop at Bremer Bay- a couple of hours sun tanning is all I need to recuperate and think this is not so bad after all, it’s funny how a little rest is all that is needed for us weary souls
-view the sunset from Mount Clarence, a lookout over the town of Albany, that gives you a 360 degree view of King George Sound, a harbor surrounding the town
Day Four

-one of the more enjoyable days on tour
-Sleep In!!!!!! We don’t have to leave until 730am
-drive to ‘The Gap and Natural Bridge’-the most dangerous and imposing Australian coastline that is know for it’s most stunning views and also for the number of deaths that occur at its summit. Learn about the power of the waves, that have claimed 40 lives and feel insignificant as you stand and watch the waves crash across the cliff banks. Apparently the waves have such a huge force that when bodies of the deceased are found their bodies are broken in hundreds of places and the skin has been ripped off their fingertips!!! Definitely enjoyed this spot the most so far.....

-walk down to a natural ‘Blow Hole’ and have your skirt fly up with the power of the ocean spray. It’s like a geyser that emits trapped oxygen and ocean spray from a crack in one of the cliffs. Almost makes for a ‘Marilyn Monroe Moment’
-trek down to the ‘Valley of The Giants’ and partake in the ‘Tree Top Walk’. You get to walk across the tops of Australia’s oldest trees whilst 40 meters in the air on a man made bridge
-Finish off the day by climbing the 70meter ‘Bicentennial Tree’. You sign a waver and proceed to climb to the top of the tree minus safety equipment. The only word of advice I could possibly give is DON"T LOOK DOWN...... and...... GOING UP IS EASIER THAN DOWN

Day Five
-Margaret River- the most popular surfing town in Australia and where some of the worlds most famous surfers come from. Stop buy a coffee, and watch the surfers get down to business. Give some credit to the white haired gentleman that apparently has made surfing his ‘Life’!!! With white flowing locks, beard and board it makes for one impressive site.

-try not to stare as the men wax their surfboards with their muscles rippling on their backs
-Next Wine Tasting!!!! Carrie you would have loved this. I gotta say I was a little drunk by the time I left.
-‘Busseltown Jetty

’-stop and admire the jetty(a wooden dock) that extends almost 2 miles over the oceans surface.
-Finish off the day with a cruise ‘Koombana Bay’ to watch the dolphins frolic around our boat. Would have been a much more enjoyable experience if I tended not to get seasick and really liked dolphins.
-Made it safely home to Perth and my homecoming with my roommates flagging down the bus by jumping up and down. It was nice to actually have people to come home to....
