I didn’t get the opportunity to really tell you much about my new job so I decided to write an entry on a few exciting things that have happened since I started.

Firstly what I do is repair chips and cracks on windshields, the gist of it is, I have a tent, 4 paint cans filled with rocks and these are screwed into the each leg of the tent(so that the tent won’t blow away), a table with 2 velcro pieces, the shorter one is to attach the disclaimer sign to say “You repair your windshield at your own risk” and the second longer strip of velcro is to attach my windshield repair kit on(it has everything I need to repair a windshield chip or crack). Then there is a blue box, which contains my float of cash where I collect or give change from, a 2-step ladder so I can reach impossible chips on the larger cars(which is basically every single one almost, because no one drives a small car). Then lastly the foldable outdoor camping chair which I sit on when there is nothing to do, listening to my iPod and tanning in the sun. It’s unbelievable how dark I have gotten since working at this new job, it’s only been a week and I’ve got a major T-shirt tan mark already. But it’s great. Although I almost had sunstroke the first two days, I just got home and my head starting pounding so bad like I’ve just been head butting a brick wall all day.

But the great thing about this job is that you get to talk to so many different people when they come to get their windshield repaired. I have found some people are not interested in talking and just want their chip fixed so they could move on, while others love talking to me so much that they don’t want to leave after getting their chip repaired. Then there are people who once they find out that I’m traveling, they tell me about all their travel stories when they were younger. Then there are they snobby rich people who want to just get their Corvette or Dodge Viper windshield chip repaired so they could keep on driving their weekend toy. But one of the things that I continue to find in Canadians of Calgary is that they find an Asian with an Australian accent to be such a novelty. I love it.

The other great thing about this job is when you are working in the car park, you get to see everything that goes on, all the things that you would miss if you just parked your car and went into the malls. I’ve never stuck around a car park long enough to witness anything. But I tell you what, it’s fun because nearly everyday something unusual happens. I can tell you so many stories and I’ve only been working for a week. For instance, my very first day I witnessed a drug deal happen in front of my very own eye. Then there was another time when a man parked his car in the center parking bay and left his dog in the car while he went into the liquor store to buy some booze, while he was inside, I saw the car roll from the parking bay, did an almost perfect sharp left turn and rolling a good 10 metres before it T-boned a van and then coming to a complete halt. The dog must of released the handbrake.

Another story, I saw a lady drive her 4x4 straight into the Scotia bank, shattering the glass while she ploughed straight through and almost running everyone over(she must of wanted to make a drive through deposit). It was funny at the time because one guy walked passed my tent seconds before it happened and was laughing his head off because of the convenience of a windshield chip repair tent. I almost went up to the lady to offer to repair her windshield HAHA. She was so shaken up though, and the ambulance and fire trucks came within 2 minutes of the whole thing happening. I was quite surprised at how prompt they showed up.

But the best thing I have yet seen is not so much of a story but a discovery of something so brilliant and intelligent. Although I’m not sure if it is entirely appropriate. But the girls would probably love this and if not the boys will think it’s the most hilarious thing they’ve seen their entire life. It’s got to be one of mine.

Well the second day of working, I was in the car park just looking around and there it was something blue just caught my eye in a distance, at first I didn’t know what it was but it looked like 2 water balloons strung on the tow bar of a car. I didn’t know what it was for but I thought it was something similar to half a tennis ball which I’ve seen at home covering the knob. But as I walked up closer and closer to it,and upon further inspection they're NOT water balloons.

Maybe don't do drive throughs anymore?

They're TESTICLES!!, my boss claimed it to be Bulls balls but it sure did look like the balls of an ape. I touched them expecting it to be soft, but it was hard and solid like a rock. Balls on a car and the great thing is when you’re driving down the road these balls sway from left to right. HAHHAHA isn’t that hilarious. I don’t know if they come in female genitals. So girls you tell me what you think, appropriate? You decide.

Well that’s it from me and work. I hope to tell you many more car park stories when I come across some.(The picture of the Car testies, is on my phone so I will have to find a way to get it off there – coming shortly)
