This morning i awoke to an old hand wound projector playing a flickering black and white movie. I rolled over to watch it and realised it was only the curtains blowing in and out letting jolting bits of light in as the fan whirred. It made me quite sad.

Byron Bay may be called a hippy paradise but all that really points to that description is the multitude of shops selling crystals, incense, candles, herbal cures, beady things, wacky clothes etc etc.

The best thing about Byron Bay is that Mcdonalds and other (crappy) international chains can't set up here. Somehow a dominos and a subway have snuck in but mainly it is commercial fast food freee. The beach is lovely, albeit full of disgustingly beautiful people, and the sea is quite fun wave wise.

Also i have some news. After a month or so of something resembling natural, i have given in and dyed my hair back to its usual plummy aubergine in our room at the YHA (shhh, they'll never know). I'm so weak. But i feel like myself again.

We had a huuuge meal of pizza and tiramasu and cheesecake last night with some chardonnay. It was good. Then we played cards back at the hostel and got very giggly and talked about boys. Some german men were laughing at us.

It was my sister's birthday yesterday (the 26th) happy birthday kate! So i called her but interrupted the family breakfast that i was not a part of :(

I had a dream about eating sushi and now i want some. :)

We went to the beach today and buried hannah in the sand, then had a pot of earl grey tea and a yummy lunch and discussed various political issues. Then we ran back to the hostel in the rain.

We went to cheeky monkey's on friday and saturday night and danced on the tables with lovely Luke, and for friday saturday and sunday night we set our alarm at 5.30 in order to get up and watch the sunrise, and on saturday, sunday and monday morning we turned it off and went back to sleep.

Elly and Hannah have now left me to do their tour :( we had a lovely meal last night as a goodbye before we meet again on the 11th of may in Cairns. I miss them!! I'm not really alone, i went to a nice quiet beach with Ashely, Tim, Dusty and Reece today. We drove there listening to Faithless. After burning yesterday (for the first time since i've been away) i kept my clothes on and the factor 50 an inch thick in all exposed areas.

Sun of a Beach!

I'm in a 12 share dorm in an international language school hostel of some sort. There's a man from astonia in there. I didn't know where astonia was.

Well, i'll keep you updated about my lonely week and a half. It'll make the reunion with my lovelies all the sweeter :P especially as we are gonna do something smashing on my birthday.

I had a lot of fun last night, this awesome girl called Woody taught me how to shoot pool properly and then how to play poker... WHICH I WON! I won all the chips. I really like poker. I think i shall keep it up. Though endless games of shithead NEVER get boring.

I was lonely today but that's ok. I was sitting in a hammock reading for the majority, and i had the yummiest moroccan lamb wrap.

Brisbane tomorrow, and then we shall see where i find myself.

Oh and Byron Bay is INDEED named after Lord Byron. Reece found it up for me in his book. I'm so smart.
