As a pert of the Northern Territory tour we would visit Kakadu National Park every 2 weeks and it is a place I could never get bored with. During the wet the landscape changes dramatically as the water levels rise and the bird species that are present change from the winter species. If you want to see lots of wildlife then you need to do the Yellow Waters cruise during winter, the sunrise cruise is the best. The shear magnitude of different bird species plus, crocs, horses, water buffalo and dingoes makes for a fantastic mix. Seeing the billabong and river shrouded in mist as the sun rises is absolutely spectacular.Â

The walks within Kakadu as relatively simple and not too strenuous, you can really close to Aboriginal art and get a sense of how they used to live there. During the wet season you have to do the 1hr scenic flight with Kakadu Air as this is the only way to see the magnificent Jim Jim and Twin falls.Â

If you really want to get a good perspective on the aboriginal culture then sign up for Lord's Safari into Arnhem land, Zeb's guides are the only ones that have access into special areas and they also take an aboriginal guide with them so you can ask lots of questions.Â

I highly recommend people visit Kakadu twice in their life time as the country changes so much from the wet season to the dry and both are fantastic in their own way.
