19.50 – Well things went pretty good today. I am currently sat down in the Shoestring Lodge in New Plymouth. I had to be up at 06.30 this morning to get here though. That was a pain in the arse to do as I had to finish packing my stuff without waking my room mates. Last night I went out for a few drinks with John again but it quickly turned into 4 and I was slightly pissed. Anyway, I managed to catch my 08.00 bus to Bulls. Unfortunately, I haven’t been on top form today. It’s nothing to do with the drinking but I have a bit of a cold and sore throat which has been a pain in the arse. From Bulls, it was a 4-5 hour journey to New Plymouth but I really enjoyed the trip. The weather has been excellent, really sunny and clear which gave brilliant views of Mt. Taranaki and the Tongariro National Park. When I got here, it was a short walk to the lodge where I am now. It is pretty nice but a little bit cold. I don’t know what it is but I really like it here and the stunning Mt. Taranaki in the background just tops it off. There wasn’t really time to do anything today so I finished my book and went for a short walk to get some pictures of the Mountain. This evening I will probably go to the cinema and call home as well. Tomorrow it is Ryan’s birthday so I will be calling home at some stage tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will be as good at it was today, I just wish I had got a decent picture.
