Ok so I might have mentioned last entry that we were planning on renting a car in Zagreb to drive down to Split so we could stop off at a few places and drive along the coast it just seemed more convenient that the bus. Ha well here goes my story, first off all imagine the most youve ever paid to rent a car..then multiply that by three and thats aboaut what we are spending but we decided it would be worth it.We did have to pay a a little more because neither of us drive stick which is a problem anywhere outside the U.S. So we get our car and find out it is a mix between and stick and automatic, no clutch but we still had to do the gears. First off we had a bit of a hard time getting the emergency brake down but did and got ourselves out of Zagreb. We stopped at a rest stop to get some snacks and got back in the car and could not for our lives get the emergency brake down! After about 15 minutes of trying I went up to some old Croatian dude who of course was able to get it right away! We continued to have problems getting the brake down over the next two days but the best is yet to come!

So we stopped of at Plitvice Lakes National Park which is quite famous in Croatia, it has a bunch of lakes and waterfalls. We spent a few hours hiking around, it was gorgeous and the water was an amazing turquoise blue. Stunning stunning place! So as we leisurely strolled back to our car we didnt see it where we parked it...but as we looked back about 30 feet we saw it, against a tree! So yeah I guess we didnt get the emergency brake up all the way and the car rolled back into a tree. This, you might think, is pretty bad luck, however since the ground dropped off and went down about 75 feet right behind the tree we were pretty psyched the tree was there otherwise our car would have crashed into a mini ravine and been totaled as opposed to the dent we got in the bumper from the tree!! After out shock died down a bit we got in the car to drive away but the battery was dead, so we had to get some park ranger guys come and give us a jump. They seemed to think it was quite funny that our car was in a tree! I new I would get a great story out of this car rental deal!
