Hurricane Beta

La Ceiba was OK. I met a good group of local people and saw how they lived, which was probably the coolest thing that happened whilst I was there. I also got invited by the locals for dinner etc and got driven around some villages by one of them.

The party life there on the weekend was good too......but I am not on these travels to party like an animal. The beggars and the dirtiness of the place really annoyed me. So did the fact that there were many drug addicts roaming the streets, and that there wasn't really anything interesting to see and do there. Tried to go to another place (Sambo Creek) - a black Honduran settlement village for some adventure activity but that didn't work out either. In all, therefore, I found it a waste of 5 valuable days........it's not even worth me filling in the little details of what I did as, though they may sound interesting to you, I have done far more interesting things on this trip. I should have left Honduras straight after seeing the ruins at Copan.

Sat 5th Nov

I just wrote a long review of what I have been up to but this computer decided to have the info for itself!!! AAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!! I haven't got much time left on the internet anymore so will write more the next time I am on. In short, all is well, the rains have stopped, I am still in La Ceiba, not going to the Bay Islands anymore, decided to go to Cuba in the next couple of months! Going to get out of La Ceiba as soon as I find out what my next stop will be......don't want to go straight to Nicaragua as I haven't seen much of this supposedly beautiful country!!

 I am here right now and stuck in the midst of Hurricane Beta. It's been raining ever since I got here, and is supposed to continue for the next 48 hours. I have been indoors alot and my plans have been put on hold as a result. I was supposed to head off into the Bay Islands but the hurricane has hit there too and so I will stay here until the weather picks up and continue on my journey. I am all well though, and will write more in the next few days, when I have done something more interesting than just sit around all day, and go for short walks between the heavy rains.
