There's so much to see and do around Margaret River, it really is a bit overwhelming.  The area is considered to be one of Australia's premier wine producing regions, and once you're there it's not hard to tell why. I think there's literally over 80 different wineries. If you wanted to you could indulge in so many different wine tastings that in the end you'd have drank a cumulative 14 casks (not an official calculation) of wine without paying a cent. Neither Heather or I are big wine drinkers, so we opted out of any tastings, but we did go to check out a handful of wineries nonetheless.Â

One of the wineries, Voyager Winery, was so incredible that we just had to give it specific mention on our website. Walking around the grounds of Voyager you feel like you're a special guest at an Italian Country Estate. The grounds are beyond any that we've ever seen. I would love to have a yard like that! You can tell how taken we were with the place by all the pictures that we took.

One of the things you can't help but notice is their huge Australian flag, which stands head and shoulders above the tree tops. This is the biggest flag I've ever seen.  It's even bigger than the Canadian flag at the Irving gas station in Enfield, Nova Scotia! (all of you Maritimers out there probably know the flag I'm talking about). It was because we saw this flag from a distance that we decided to stop in.Â
The display buildings are all beautifully decorated as well. I'm sure the food in their restaurant is decadent to say the least (we didn't eat there). The products for sale are all quite expensive as you'd expect, but that's not what we were there for. We were just two young backpacking Canadians "taking it all in".Â
