March 3rd, 2006.

Nearly one week before mom and I head to Cancun.  I'm getting really excited about the trip.  It's going to be nice to have a little bit of time to breath and relax... and bask in that hot Mexican sun before heading off on my next adventure.  Right now life is looking pretty good.

March 19th, 2006.

Home sweet home.  I'm back from my week in Cancun.  It was pretty incredible.  We arrived safetly at the airport, and took the shuttle bus to the RIU Cancun.  On the drive, I looked out at the ocean and saw the most beautiful shades of bright blue I have ever seen.  I was sooooo amazing.  That ocean, ahhhh, I just can't get enough.

So, mom and I got there, and didn't have our room yet, so we threw on our bathing suits and went to the beach.  We made sure our bathers were right at the top of that bag, but the sunscreen, not so much.  So we figured it wasn't worth digging threw the bag, and layed in the sun sans sunscreen.  BIG MISTAKE.  That sun is hot hot hot.  Both mom and I quickly got burned to a crisp.  I guess my unburnable Maltese skin is being over powered by the evironment depleating.

We made it into our room and the view.  Wow wow wow.  Our room was on the tenth floor and looked right out onto the ocean.  So amazing.

The food - the food was buffet style... it was pretty tasty, but pretty tough to find a variety of vegetarian stuff.  But, man, I could live off that guacamole for the rest of my life.  There were two retaurants as well, but they both served meat with I side order of meat, and then for desert deep fried meat... you get the drift, not so much the hot spot for vegetarians.

The pools and beaches - I spent most of my days laying by the pool/beach, reading or swimming.  It was great... I got adequately brown, read some great books, and had some quality time with my mom.  Our favorite pool was so amazing.  It had this waterfally thing where you would sit on this bench and look right out onto the ocean.  Unbelievable.

Adventure - on Wednesday mom and I went parasailing... and it was crazy from start to finish.  First we got into this crazy water taxi, and the driver, was so concerned with making sure mom found a seat in the jam packed boat, that he got the boat stuck in the buoy line.  Oooops.  Then we get onto the parasailing launching boat, get strapped in and off we flew.  Ok, before I get into how beautiful it was... the noises that contraption was making was the scariest thing ever.  Here we were flying 30 feet above the ocean and all we here is clinking and clanking and things shifts. We were being help up by this really sketchy knot and a few silver clips. I mean, we take about 1000 more safety precautions when taking kids up the climbing wall.  But, as you can see, I'm here to tell the tale, so all is good.  Anyway, the view was amazing... refer to above comments on beautiful ocean.  And we got a sweet aerial view of the hotel strip... the whole thing was breathtaking!  Then we went for our dunk.  We are being wound down, and if course the one disgusting part of the whole ocean is where we get dunked, there was bits of stuff floating around in it and stuff.  But regardless, it was a blast.  The next day we went to Tulum, and ancient Mayan ruin.  That was incredible also.  The amount of history and culture in those ruins.  Truly breathtaking.  And - there were lots of iguanas.

The clubs - being with my momma, who surprisingly is not the late night clubbing type, I did not do much of the Sping break woohoo thing. (only my first Friends reference so far, I'm not doing to bad) But on Thursday night I was introduced to two guys through a friend of ours who took me out for a night on the town.  It was sooo fun!  We went to a club called The City.  It was HUGE! They had acrobats, moving stages, theatre sized tv screen sporting lame quotes like, "Boys go wild, girls get nuts."  It was awesome.  So I watched a few crazily amazing choreographed dance routines, drank a few beers (my pig's ear training served me well, I was able to keep up with the boys.) and danced!  Really good times.  I'm pumped I got to at least spend one night doing the club scene.

I wasn't ready to leave... but off to the next adventure.  Although, something must have been keeping me in Cancun, because my luggage didn't make it onto the plane.  Which sucks hardcore, cause I really, really need it for tomorrow.  But - what can you do?  Such things happen.

Anyway, that is my long winded version on my week in Mexico.  It was great... so thank you mom for an amazing time.
