Luggage lost

Habari! (Welcome in Kiswahili)

After arriving on a delayed flight from South Africa on Sunday, my luggage was lost.  That was 5 days ago and there's STILL no trace of it.  Thankfully, the other interns have been very generous.  They hooked a sista up and let me borrow several outfits until my suitcase (hopefully) arrives.

I'm a wimp at bargaining

I've enjoyed my stay in Dar so far.  the people here are extremely friendly (I know typical tourist talk), but they are! With a sincere smile and an attempt at speaking Swahili, people will go out of their way to help you.

Since I've been here I've also gone shopping (more like browsing).  There's so much to buy, I'm temped to buy everything: jewelry, cloth, tailor-made clothing, carvings, furniture, and art.  The most difficult part of shopping here is having to bargain.  I'm a wimp at bargaining!  I have no confidence in my bartering skills, but it's the only way not to get ripped off.  I'm trying hard to be patient so I don't  spend all my money at once.  I mean, I will be here for another six weeks.
